Praying Missions

For our service to be:  from His grace, by His strength, for His glory!

1 Peter 4:11, “Let the one who serves serve in the strength which God supplies that in everything God may get the glory through Jesus Christ.”

For the Gospel to speed ahead of AZ and be honored.

2 Thessalonians 3:1, “Pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you.”

For lives that are protected from anxiety by God’s peace.

Philippians 4:6-7, “The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

For secluded time and space for communion with God.

Matthew 6:6, “When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”

For our married couples be on their knees together in prayer

1 Peter 3:7, “Husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.”

For children to be taught God’s Word

Ephesians 6:4, “Fathers . . . bring . . . up [your children] in the discipline and instruction of the Lord,”

For deep friendships within AZ, praying for one another

James 5:16, “Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed,”

For the work of ministry and meetings to be done BY prayer

Acts 6:4, “But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word,”

For our hearts and minds to be truly engaged

Matthew 15:8-9, “This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.”

For God to exalt his name in Lusaka.

Matthew 6:9, “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.”

For the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 11:13, “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

For God to vindicate Zambians/us in our cause.

Luke 18:7 “And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night?”

For God to save unbelievers that we have contact with.

Romans 10:1, “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.”

For strategic wisdom.

James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

For God to establish church leadership in the urban townships.

Acts 14:23, “And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.”

For God to send AZ reinforcements.

Matthew 9:38, “Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

For the success of other missionaries in Zambia.

Romans 15:30-31, “I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints.”

For AZ and AI unity and harmony.

John 17:20-21, “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

For minds of discernment.

Philippians 1:9-10, “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.”

For AZ to have knowledge of His will.

Colossians 1:9, “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding.”

For the power to comprehend the love of Christ.

Ephesians 3:14, “I bow my knees before the Father . . . [that you] may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge.”

For signs and wonders.

Acts 4:29-30, “And now, Lord, . . . grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness . . . while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

For the healing of wounded comrades.

James 5:14-15, “Let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”

For our faith not to be destroyed.

Luke 21:36, “But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

For God to complete the work we have begun for His glory.

2 Thessalonians 1:11, “To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power.”
