PHASE 1: JULY 2009 – JUN 2010 (1 YEAR)
a. Conference Centre (Finished) – The team house becomes available for immediate use by church leadership groups and ministry teams that may have need for a conference facility.
b. Football Pitch (Finished) – Move football pitch from current location toward the Northwest most corner of the Ciyanjano property. Grading equipment will be necessary for the completion of this task. Goal post will be removed from their current location and transferred to the new pitch.
c. Perimeter Fence (Finished) – Erect a perimeter electric fence around the property with installation of a rolling gate at the main entrance. The football pitch will remain outside the fence line to maximize use by the local community.
d. Pit Latrine (Finished) – Dig pit latrine and then erect a latrine shelter that also has a plumbed hand washing station. This facility will have 4 toilet seats.
e. Nsaka Repair (In Progress) – Tear down nsaka #1 at it’s current location, taking measures to save all timber for possible use elsewhere. Then reconstruct the nsaka structure by hiring a professional thatcher. Having a large nsaka will give Ciyanjano an immediate dual purpose facility for meetings during the day and
sleeping shelter at night (roll down netting for mosquitos and roll down canvas partitions.
f. Missionary Housing – Add on to and refurbish the existing structure next to house.
g. Water Tanks – Erect a steel/concrete platform to hold three 15,000 liter tanks for water storage – elevated for gravity pressure.
h. Planting (In Progress) – Plant trees and shrubs that will eventually offer some shade and serve as visual blinds. Starting this early will give the plants time to get established before further work is undertaken in later phases.
i. Cultivation (In Progress) – Continue to cultivate large portions of lower Ciyanjano property. Agriculture works will be on display for visiting groups while supplementing worker incomesretreat, planning or seminars
