Bible Distribution

We are excited to report that we received your donations and were able to order enough bibles for each of the care—teams with which we worked this past tri-mester.  After conducting a survey of our participants, we found that there was not only a demand for Bibles in Nyanja but also in Bemba, another very widely spoken language in Lusaka.

As we handed out the Bibles we followed up by teaching a lesson with each church about the importance of using the Word of God as our primary weapon in the battle against HIV/ AIDS.  This was a new concept for many.  Together, we’ve since opened the Bible to answer a few of the heart—level questions that many people suffering with HIV have…  questions like: “Can God forgive me?”  “How do I know I am going to heaven?”  “I am afraid of death.”

Some members in the care—teams have never owned their own Bible and it was evident that they were unfamiliar with it.  Although this is somewhat discouraging at first glance, we are quite encouraged that they now have the opportunity to get encounter Christ in the pages of Scripture every day!  We are convinced that God will honor these churches if they rely on his Word as they go about their respective ministries.

Studying the Bible weekly is foundational for our program participants. We are praying that more Bibles will be donated so that our work can continue with more church groups.  Every three months we have need for 200 additional copies.

“The weapons we fight with are weapons of the world.  On the
contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.”
